Technology can be a wonderful source of enjoyment and education for children of any age. However, using technology comes with risks, including online bullying, malware, contact from strangers, addiction and inappropriate content.
At our nursery, we recognise that technology is a growing part of children's lives from a very young age. Through play, exploration and discussion, we help children develop the knowledge, confidence and awareness they need to use technology safely and responsibly. Our approach is carefully planned to ensure children build their understanding gradually as they grow, with online safety messages embedded throughout everyday experiences. Information is taught in an age-appropriate way, focusing on developing safe habits, recognising trusted adults, and understanding how to seek help when needed
Roots Nurseries only use devices in groups with adult supervision, so we can be sure children are safe.
