Enrichment Strategy

At Heath Lane Nursery School, we believe that some of the most memorable learning happens through real-life experiences. Our Enrichment Strategy is designed to give every child opportunities to explore, discover, create and experience the world beyond their everyday environment, helping to develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
Enrichment is woven throughout our curriculum rather than being treated as an additional extra. Carefully planned experiences help children develop communication skills, independence, resilience, creativity, physical development, social skills and an understanding of the wider world.
Every child at Heath Lane Nursery School benefits from a programme of enrichment experiences, including Federation-wide opportunities such as visits from Ark Farm, specialist sports coaching, a Soft Play Bus experience and a live pantomime performance. Alongside these, children also take part in school-specific opportunities, including visits to the local library and author visits that inspire a love of stories and reading.
Our enrichment offer is fully inclusive and accessible to all children. We carefully consider individual needs and provide appropriate support so that every child can participate, enjoy and succeed.
We also work closely with families, sharing information about upcoming experiences, the learning behind them and ways to continue conversations and interests at home.
Through our enrichment programme, we aim to ensure that every child has the opportunity to:
-
Experience something new
-
Develop new interests and talents
-
Build confidence and resilience
-
Meet new people and explore new environments
-
Develop skills for learning and life
-
Create lasting memories
-
Discover more about themselves and the world around them
Our ambition is that every child leaves Heath Lane Nursery School with not only strong foundations for future learning, but also a sense of wonder, confidence and possibility.
