Head of School's message
As we come to the end of another wonderful year, it was a joy to see so many families at our picnic. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special event. I was incredibly proud of all of our children for their fantastic performance. They sang with confidence, enthusiasm and big smiles, creating memories we will all treasure.
To those children and families moving on to school or new adventures in September, we wish you every success and happiness for the future. Thank you for being part of our Heath Lane Nursery community. We will miss you and know you will continue to shine. To those returning to us, we look forward to continuing your journey at Heath Lane for a little longer.
I would like to wish all of our families a relaxing and enjoyable summer break.

Tuesday 1st September 1:30 to 3:00 pm - Stay & Play for children staying/joining in September.
Wednesday 2nd September - Nursery re-opens.

Please feel welcome to get in touch (via email) if you think your child/ren may have misplaced an item. All lost property will be kept safely on site until the October half-term break.

Book & Rhyme of the week
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and carers who volunteered as our Secret Storytellers. The children were absolutely delighted by the wonderful surprise of seeing a familiar face come in to share a story.
Your time, enthusiasm and willingness to be part of their learning made these moments truly special, helping to nurture a love of stories, language and imagination.
Learning at home
Enjoy sharing the books gifted to all our leavers and those staying on with us.
The Colour Monster is a lovely story to share together, providing opportunities to talk about different feelings and help children recognise and express their emotions. Have fun going through the accompanying activity sheet with your child/ren before they start at their new school next term.
One Banana, Two Bananas supports early counting and number recognition in a fun, engaging way. Read the story together, then use the activity sheet to extend your child/ren’s learning through play ahead of them returning to us in September.
Healthy me, Healthy world
As families head off to enjoy the summer holidays, spending time at the beach, by rivers, lakes or swimming pools can create wonderful memories. However, water can be dangerous, even for confident swimmers, so children should always be supervised closely and remain within arm's reach when they are in or near water.
If you are visiting the coast, choose lifeguarded beaches where possible and always swim between the red and yellow flags.
Remember that even on hot days, open water can be very cold, so it's important to know the RNLI's Float to Live advice if you or someone else gets into difficulty.

Success story of the week
What a wonderful way to end the academic year! 🌟
On Monday, the children put all of their hard work into practice during their performances at our end-of-year picnic. It was incredible to see them take to the stage with such confidence, singing and reciting their rhymes/poems in front of their friends and families.
We then enjoyed a lovely picnic in the meadow together, celebrating with our whole Heath Lane family.
We are incredibly proud of all the children. They have grown so much over the past year and have developed such a love for learning.
All absences must be reported daily either by leaving an absence voice message or emailing admin@heathlane.herts.sch.uk.
We politely ask that if you plan to take your child out during school time, you notify the Nursery office. For appointments, we ask where possible that these are not during the school day. If this is not avoidable, please kindly share the relevant information for this appointment in order for us to be able to authorise this.
Regular attendance at Nursery is very important, as it helps children build the foundational knowledge and skills they will need as they move through school. Establishing good attendance habits now supports a smoother transition into primary school and helps ensure children develop positive routines that will benefit them throughout their educational journey. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child attend regularly and on time.
