Head of School's Message
We are excited to invite you to our End of Year Celebration on Friday 18th July, which is also the last day of term. The event will take place between 10:00am and 12:00pm.

All parents/carers are warmly welcome, and we would also like to invite our afternoon children to join us for the morning. If you would like to come along, please email the admin team to let us know. Kindly include, who will be attending (maximum 2 adults per child), if you will be taking your child home with you at 12pm or if your child attends in the afternoon, if you will be attending the picnic and then leaving them at Nursery.

We have a lovely morning planned, including some fun activities and a picnic. Children and adults are asked to bring a packed lunch to enjoy together. Please make sure you follow our allergy guidance and also do not use mobile phones. Each nursery group will also have the opportunity to perform a Nursery Rhyme they’ve been practising.

As part of the celebration, each child will be invited to paint a large pebble, which we will use to create a new HL walkway outside—a lasting reminder of their time with us. Additionally, the children will plant sunflower seeds to take home, complete with a special label they will create about ‘helping them to grow.’

Parents/carers are welcome to take their children home at 12:00pm after the celebration, however, the nursery will remain open for the afternoon session as usual. Please note that there will be no After School Club on this day.

We look forward to celebrating a wonderful year together!

Book & Rhyme of the week
Our Talk for Writing Book is "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" by Mara Alperin and Kate Pankhurst.

The story will move into the innovation phase of the EYFS Talk For Writing programme, where the children will make changes to the original story such as characters, settings, or events while maintaining the structure and style of the original text. This will involve activities such as creating story maps and expressing their unique ideas through language, both written and spoken. This phase is essential in fostering a love for storytelling and a deeper understanding of narrative structures.

Our key vocabulary of the text is "Snarl", "Meadow", "Trot", "Brambles", "Valley" and "Slobber". Please see below link to the story;

For the next few weeks instead of Rhyme of the Week the children will be learning different Nursery Rhymes to perform at the Summer Picnic.

Language of the week
We are lucky to have a rich and diverse community with lots of different languages. Our language of the week is Greek, which is spoken by one of our practitioners Effie and her family. Please find below links of how to say "Hello" and "Goodbye" in Greek. Please practise with your child at home.

Learning At Home
With the warmer weather arriving, why not try a fun and easy ice melting experiment at home?

Freeze small toys or natural objects like leaves & flowers in an ice cube tray.
On a sunny day, place them in a tray outside and help your child make predictions about how long the ice will take to melt.

You can time it together and talk about what helps it melt faster. Enjoy!
Success Story of the Week
In part of the Three Billy Goats Gruff story there is a element around a bridge.

The children have fully immersed themselves in this part of the story and challenged themselves to make a variety of bridges out of the different resources we have available at Nursery.

Not only have they created a bridge using teamwork they have also practised their turn taking in testing it out.

Great work everyone!
