Head of School's message

We kindly ask for your support in keeping the access road and car park safe and accessible for everyone.

Please avoid parking in the middle of the roundabout on the access road, as this has, on several occasions, prevented NHS staff from arriving or leaving the car park. There have also been instances where staff have struggled to get to work when cars were not moved upon polite request.

As we share our building with the NHS and the Family Centre, please also remember that the foyer is reserved for visitors with appointments. During morning drop-off times, we ask parents and carers to wait outside or in their cars (for no longer than 10 minutes).

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep the space safe, respectful, and accessible for everyone who uses it.

Book & Rhyme of the week

Our next Structured Stories Book is "The Enormous Turnip" by Katie Daynes.

Next week the story will move into the innovation phase of the EYFS Talk For Writing programme, where the children will make changes to the original story such as characters, settings, or events while maintaining the structure and style of the original text. This will involve activities such as creating story maps and expressing their unique ideas through language, both written and spoken. This phase is essential in fostering a love for storytelling and a deeper understanding of narrative structures.

Our key vocabulary of the text is "budge", "heave", "enormous", "supper", "decide" and "turnip". Please see below link to story;

Next week's Rhyme of the week is 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'

This rhyme will support children's maths skills counting up to five.

Language of the week

We are lucky to have a rich and diverse community with lots of different languages. Our language of the week is Hindi, which is spoken by some of our children and their families.

Please find below links of how to say "Hello" and "Goodbye" in Hindi. Please practise with your child at home.

We would like to extend our best wishes to those families who will be celebrating Diwali next week.

Diwali, the festival of lights, is coming soon and is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore and observe different types of lights in their environment.

Encourage your child/ren to look for and identify different kinds of lights they see in their everyday environment.

Child Accident Prevention Trust

October brings two things every teacher knows well — half-term and Halloween! While this time of year is full of fun and excitement, it also brings some safety concerns for children and young people.

Beyond the usual worries about trick-or-treating and late-night festivities, there are other, less obvious risks — such as unsafe costume materials and reduced visibility in the dark. The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) has shared some helpful advice for keeping children safe while they enjoy the celebrations.

Success story of the week

This week the children transformed the bottom garden into an enchanting wood as they crafted their very own wands using sticks and colourful pipe cleaners.

Using their imaginations they searched for sticks that felt just right for their spells. Twisting and twirling pipe cleaners around their chosen branches, each child personalized their wand with vibrant spirals, creating a delightful mix of colour.

This enchanting activity not only encouraged their creativity but also fostered collaboration and storytelling, leaving them feeling proud.
