Head of School's message

We are now all settled into the new term. It has been a cold and busy start, but we have already seen so much progress in the children, many of whom seem to have really grown up over Christmas.

We’re already looking ahead to September, and are now welcoming enquiries and beginning our recruitment for the next academic year. If you know any families with young children who may be looking for a nurturing, inspiring nursery environment, we would be so grateful if you could spread the word.

We encourage prospective parents/carers to book a tour to come and see our nursery in action, meet the team, and experience our setting first-hand.

To keep up to date with life at the nursery, please do follow us on social media, where we regularly share news, events, and snapshots of our days.

Book & Rhyme of the week

The Structured Stories Book is "Lubna and Pebble" by Wendy Meddour.

Next week the story will move into the innovation phase of our Structured Storytelling programme, where the children will make changes to the original story such as characters, settings, or events while maintaining the structure and style of the original text. This will involve activities such as creating story maps and expressing their unique ideas through language, both written and spoken. This phase is essential in fostering a love for storytelling and a deeper understanding of narrative structures.

Our key vocabulary of the text is "pebble", "clutch", "flap", "underneath", "beam" and "tight".   Please see below link to story;

Language of the week

We are lucky to have a rich and diverse community with lots of different languages. Our language of the week is Urdu, which is spoken by some of our children and their families.

Please find below links of how to say "Hello" and "Goodbye" in Urdu. You can practise with your child/ren at home.

Success story of the week

Our Success Story of the week is that we listened to pop music and turned our outside area into a music arena.  We built a stage area using the wooden blocks.

We practised dancing, jumping, marching, and swaying to the beat, working on our gross motor skills — building strength, balance, and coordination.  This also helped us develop our confidence in how we can move our body.

There was a lot of individuality and pride as each child found their own way to respond to the music, whether that was big energetic jumps, careful stepping, or spinning with a friend.

Moments like these are a wonderful reminder of how play, music, and movement come together to support children’s overall development.
