Head of School's Message
We've had a fantastic start to the term, and it's been a joy to see our children so engaged in their learning. Thank you to everyone who completed the parent/carer survey - your positive comments and ongoing support mean a great deal to us.
This term, we are planning a strong focus on sustainability, helping our children understand how they can care for the world around them. In Talk for Writing, the children have loved 'Going on a bear hunt' and exploring our sensory curriculum, which supports their development through hands-on, immersive experiences.
Our themes this term also include Healthy Me, where we’re encouraging positive choices for mind and body. In phonics, the focus is on alliteration - lots of silly sentences and fun with sounds! In maths, we are continuing to build number confidence.
We're also continuing our Commando Joe programme, where this term’s value is self-awareness - a vital part of growing as individuals and learners. And finally, there's been a brilliant buzz in music sessions, as children explore rhythm and culture through Reggae.
Wishing you all a safe, restful, and enjoyable long weekend!

Now that the weather is getting warmer - it is imperative that every child has sun lotion applied before their session. They must also have a sun hat (labelled with their name) with them every day - even if the day starts a little cloudy.
Children should be in sturdy shoes with a back (no open toed/slip on shoes) to ensure that the children can play safely across the environment.
Book & Rhyme of the week
Our next Talk for Writing Book is "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen.
The story will move into the imitation phase of the EYFS Talk For Writing programme, where children will focus on the story structure identifying the beginning, middle and end. This will involve activities such as retelling the story with actions, creating story maps and performing the text aloud. This phase is to provide a solid foundation through understanding and practising the language patterns and structure of the text.
Our key vocabulary of the text is "Deep", "Googly", "Gloomy", "Wavy", "Oozy" and "Narrow". Please see below link to the story;

Our Rhyme of the Week for next week is: "There's a worm at the bottom of my garden".
In these sessions the children are also learning the Makaton signs to the lyrics.

Language of the week
We are lucky to have a rich and diverse community with lots of different languages. Our language of the week is Tagalog, which is spoken by one of our pupils, Aeuz and their family. Please find below links of how to say "Hello" and "Goodbye" in Tagalog. Please practise with your child at home.

Learning At Home
This week we explored how to represent numbers using different objects!
A fun way to support this at home is through simple ''Number Treasure Hunt''.
Ask your child to pick a number (1-5) and find that many objects around the house - like 3 spoons or 4 toy cars. Count them together and enjoy exploring numbers in everyday fun!
Success Story of the Week
This week we took part in our very own "Bear Hunt".
The children began by creating their own maps of our outdoor area, using simple symbols and drawings to mark trees, grassy areas, and 'caves.'
Once their maps were complete, they set off on an exciting adventure through the outdoor space, using their maps to navigate and search for the bear. Along the way, they reenacted parts of the story—stomping through "swishy swashy grass," splashing through imaginary rivers, and tiptoeing into the "narrow, gloomy cave."
At the end of the trail… they found the Bear! (A friendly stuffed bear waiting in the cave!).
This activity supported early literacy, map reading, teamwork, and imaginative play.
